Bedbugs in Atlantic City

Posted on January 16, 2009 by The Commander

Last night Philadelphia’s Fox affiliate, MyFox 29, ran a story on a woman getting bit by bed bugs during a trip to Atlantic City.

A Germantown woman claims she was bitten by bed bugs while staying at a well-known casino and resort in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

I read about this last year on Trip Adviser’s Atlantic City forum.   The hotel named was Harrah’s.  I’m not sure if this is the same case or not.

This is pretty nasty and might keep me away from a smaller hotel.  Harrah’s has about 5 towers and I’d imagine that this is an isolated problem.  I didn’t have this kind of a problem on my visit last week.

I had a different, but similar, issue on a trip to Showboat last year.  As I was getting into be on my last night in the hotel, staying in the Bourbon Tower, I saw a mouse.  I called the front desk and they were nonplussed about this and offered a new room.  With only 3 hours to sleep I didn’t bother to change rooms, but I got the heck out of there and haven’t returned since.
