Harrah’s Atlantic City Trip Report Part 1 – Checking In
Last Friday I was able to leave work a little early and head down to Atlantic City for some rest, relaxation and fun. I had such a good time at Harrah’s Resort during my last visit that I decided to head back again. The plan for this trip was to just get away, watch some basketball, gamble and relax. In summation, that was achieved.
I normally don’t leave for a weekend getaway until Saturday morning, but as I mentioned I was able to head out of work a little early to get another night in. That extra night was used in full and a great addition to my weekend.
I headed right to Harrah’s and went to VIP check in. I was told that I was no longer allowed to use VIP check in. I’ll forget that by the next time I visit Atlantic City. I got a high room in the Waterfront Tower. Even though this tower is the farthest from the casino floor I really like it there. This is the newest tower with, what I’m guessing, are the nicest rooms.
The rooms are normal size for Atlantic City, but decorated very nicely. One step into the room and you can see just about everything. Another two steps forward you can see the modern design of the room. The decor is very similar to the Bourbon Tower rooms at Showboat, but with less yellows. The room was also clean. I’ve seen on that Harrah’s rooms aren’t always clean.

The bathrooms are a little small, but I was perfectly happy with them. The bathrooms are good for two people, but four may be a little tight. There is only one sink which is fine for a single guy. I’m always happiest with a walk in shower. The seperate water closet was nice as well. This is something not offered at all properties in Atlantic City.

It was an overcast day, but I had a very typical New Jersey view of the swamps and Borgata casino hotel which I would be visiting a few hours after checking in to Harrah’s. For now it was time to get a drink!

I headed down the elevator to the floor and went over to the Diamond Lounge and noticed that it was very very crowded with older people. I asked why it was so crowded and was told that there was a DVD player give away. No free DVD player for me. I doubt a cheap DVD player would motivate me to travel anywhere. Anyway, because of the giveaway and the huge crowd the line for the Diamond Lounge was huge. I don’t like lines, so I left and headed to Bally’s to collect some cash back that I had accrued on my December trip.
Part two will follow…
