PH was awesome during the soft opening phase. In addition to the good VP paytables, they had $10 blackjack tables with all the usual decent but not great rules (dealer hits s17, double after split) PLUS surrender! I actually did surrender with a mere $10 in the betting circle, prompting the dealer (a fiesty latina) to ask "did you come all the way to vegas to surrender?". I was tempted to say "I came all the way to vegas to play the right way", but censored myself and said something like "in this situation, yes I did". Won $200 that night and turned a losing trip into a breakeven one.

As I followed TRs of other people who played at PH after I did, I noticed the rules for 21 and VP became 'standard Strip BS'. Sad :(.

Never got any offers from them either.

JMP - I think you're right regarding BP. I'll get that info up either tomorrow or during the week. This will be my first trip since I've paid attention to VP and VP pay tables. Looking forward to it.

I love PH!

I'm too lazy to navigate vpfree2 right now, but I seem to recall Bally's having some decent Bonus Poker at either the quarter or dollar level. If 8/5 is 'full pay' for bonus, I believe they said there was 7/5 available, with a payout of around 97%.

I still remember the halcyon days of PH's soft opening back in early September of 2007 when they had 8/6 JoB. Ahhh memories....
