Mike Weir, Sergio Garcia & Geoff Ogilvy for The Masters!

Posted on April 08, 2009 by The Commander

Last week I noticed that the odds for the field playing The Masters, not named Tiger Woods, were pretty big.  I always enjoy taking a stab at a nice return when gambling as long as I can do a little research and make an intelligent bet.

Odds from sportsbook.com changed a lot from this past weekend.  Here are my picks to win The Masters.

Ogilvy is #1 on the money list right now.  He’s Australian and I’ve watched him play before.  He’s playing well right now and he looks like a good golfer.  His odds were +2000 over the weekend.  With the change in odds, I dropped my bet down.

Sergio was a hunch over the weekend.  He seems to be overdue to win a major.  This morning I heard Jim Nantz from CBS Sports talking about why he thought Sergio might win.  Garcia seems to choke at the big events, but the odds and Nantz helped me make this pick.

Weir is Canadian and won The Masters before.  He seems to be a good golfer who wins a couple of tournaments each year.  The fact that he’s won before shows that he can do it.

I’m looking forward to watching The Master on Thursday.  As a fan of ESPN, I’m curious to see how their coverage turns out.
