Atlantic City Casinos – 19.4% Revenue Decline
Talking about Atlantic City and Las Vegas casino revenue declines are not really fun for me. Year over year revenues are down for Atlantic City casinos by 19.4%. That’s not surprising.
Casinos reported $318.4 million in casino win in March, a 19.4 percent decrease over the same month a year ago and a record monthly decline for the industry. Results reported to the New Jersey Casino Control Commission Thursday show that the 11 casinos won $218.1 million at the slot machines and another $100.3 million at table games in March. Slot revenue decreased by 21.3 percent while table revenues decreased 14.7 percent.
It seems as if the rumors of “tight slots” are not quite true.
The news isn’t 100% terrible. Revenue rose from February. It seems the year over year losses will continue until we reach the fourth quarter since the first half of the year was still when the economy was still strong. I remember the economy doing well. I actually had increases in my 401K.
I’ve been following your posts with great interest. My gambling strategy is to make those full pay games in AC to positive expectation with the offers that casinos send out all the time via email/postcard. I need some advice:
I got my first postcard with an offer that I like. It’s for bally’s in AC and I have to earn 45 base rewards credits and I get $5 same day cash back.
I had been getting postcards for rooms at all the harrah’s properties for $59 or so Sun-thur. Those weren’t so hot.
Problem the ballys offer is its only good in May. I would like to go this month (april) and give my business to another casino, maybe Trump. Maybe they’ll start sending me some offers (?)
Or, should I continue to frequent bally’s this april with the expectation that more offers will be forthcoming?
About me: I’ve been playing in AC once a month, only @ ballys. My budget is $75 per trip. Haven’t hit a royal, but I have lost my $75 twice and once i left up about $20. Strictly quarters player. Only play JoB.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for reading! I’m glad you’re enjoying.
I’m not a comp chaser so I may not be the best person to ask. However, I can certainly share my experience.
The more you play at one property, the better the offers should become. In theory, the more you play at Bally’s the better the offers should become for Bally’s and the other Harrah’s properties.
If you want to try another property then you should certainly feel free to do so. You offers there will be starting from scratch. For example; I fluctuate between Bally’s, Harrahs and Borgata. My offers at Borgata are much less than at Harrah’s properties because I go there as a change of pace.
I hope that helps. Good luck!
